Composite Image

Reflection

I learned a lot this week while creating my composite image. One thing that I learned is to always be critical of my own work. I almost overlooked some visual issues with my composite image before turning the assignment in. While blending the water with the lens, I told myself I would come back and clean-up a specific area of the photo before I was done. I later forgot about this area needing to be touched up, but luckily I noticed the issue before submitting the assignment. I also learned a few new blending techniques as I worked on multiple composites throughout the week before deciding on the one you see above, I just found it to be a very alluring composite overall.

I did not really run into many challenges this week outside of struggling to come up with an idea for my composite, or choosing the one I feel was the most successfully composed. It's very easy to write-over steps when working with composites because of the amount of editing done to an image. So I find myself saving multiple PSD files when working with composites so that I can go back to an alternate version at anytime if I'm unhappy with where my composite has ended up and I think that mentality helped me avoid any challenges I may have encountered had I not preserved my workflow.

If I were to change anything about my final product, It would probably be the addition of another image to the left of the camera lens. I feel like removing the strap on the left and adding some sort of landscape could possibly improve the image overall. But to be honest I'm quite happy with the final result of my composite so I'm not sure i would even consider that.
